Magnets Letters & Numbers is a language & social learning activity for children. A shared learning activity that can support conversation, naming, listening and interaction during play.
What children can explore
- Through use of this product, children can explore vocabulary, listening, communication, turn-taking and social interaction.
- The experience depends on the child’s interests, the way the activity is introduced and the level of adult support; these are opportunities for practice, not guaranteed outcomes.
How to play
- Name the objects, pictures or actions as you explore the product together.
- Pause for the child to respond, point, choose or ask; then take turns adding an idea or describing what happens next.
Play together
- The Bryto review lists this mainly for individual play.
- An adult or peer can still join briefly to model a step, encourage the child or take turns when suitable.
- Parents can connect new words to daily routines.
- Teachers and specialists can use short, structured turns and adapt the amount of language to each learner.
For parents, teachers and learning centres
- At home, use the activity in a relaxed, child-led way.
- In schools, nurseries and learning centres in Qatar and the Gulf, it can be considered for a supervised learning corner, small-group rotation or guided activity when it matches the class objective and learner needs.
Age and supervision
- Suggested age in the Bryto catalogue: 3 years.
- Choose the activity according to the child’s abilities and supervise use as appropriate.
- Keep the play area organised and store pieces safely after use.
