Development of the Child’s skills
Children are born as a white page that their parents or family members fill with a set of things that will benefit them throughout their lives, and among these things we find the skills that parents teach their children. Parents have to teach their children the skills that fall within the framework of good morals and values and to keep them away from learning skills that lead a person to waste time or do things that are not good.
Childhood stages:
In the same context, we note that according to psychology, the childhood stage is divided into four stages:
The cradle stage, that is, from the birth of the child to the age of two years, then the early childhood stage, which begins at the end of the first stage and ends at the age of eight years, then comes the late childhood stage, which ends at the age of twelve and finally the stage of adulthood, which ends with the end of childhood, i.e. eighteen Year.
The skills that a child must learn and develop differ from one stage to another.
Cradle stage skills:
In the cradle stage, the child must learn standing and walking skills and then develop them with the help of his parents or older siblings if he has them, because walking is one of the most important things that a child must acquire at this stage, in addition to teaching the child how to play with games that will make him feel active And vital, in addition to his inclusion in the communication process of family members through trying to make him laugh or ask him about something and repeat the question, although we know that he will not answer, but in this way he will realize that he has to communicate and whoever will subconsciously try to develop speech skills in another childhood stage.
Early childhood skills:
Early childhood stage is a stage full of skills that the child should learn, such as speaking, communicating and expressing feelings by laughing when joyful or crying when sad and anxious. Learning to read and write is also very important at this stage where parents can encourage their children to do so and set aside time for reading with It is also important at this stage for parents to help their children find their talent or hobby and encourage them to do so and to be creative in what they love to do by providing a decent and comfortable atmosphere for them so that they can harness their talents in what is useful to them. In addition, children between the ages of three and eight years are in dire need of learning the skills of making friends and playing together with their peers.
Late childhood skills:
This stage is distinguished from its predecessors by the fact that the child has acquired a set of skills that allow him to participate in his surroundings and express his opinion on several topics, then his brain cells are active and nearly fully developed and thus the child is ready to learn many things, especially if he is a student – which is something We urge, that is, that parents include their children in school – because in school children learn many things , including correcting their language and being able to relative it, as they learn how to count and communicate.
Adulthood skills:
This stage is characterized by the difficulty of parents dealing with their children due to the stage of adolescence that coincides with this stage, where the child becomes his own desires that are imbued with it and some features of rebellion appear in him in order to highlight his presence, but this does not mean that he will not learn new skills at this stage, but in addition to What he learns outside the home in school or in its surroundings, he can be taught skills at home, such as motivating him to organize his things and help in some home tasks, then he can be entertained by teaching him new games such as playing cards or chess to develop his mental skills.
at the end, we recommend that you allocate part of your time and effort as parents to work on the quality of the skills that you pass to your children in order to facilitate their lives later on, because everything you will teach them will definitely benefit them at a certain age.
