Calendar & Clock is a early learning, maths & stem activity for children. An early-learning activity for exploring patterns, shapes, numbers or simple STEM ideas through hands-on play.
What children can explore
- Through use of this product, children can explore early numeracy, sorting, pattern recognition, shape awareness and logical thinking.
- The experience depends on the child’s interests, the way the activity is introduced and the level of adult support; these are opportunities for practice, not guaranteed outcomes.
How to play
- Introduce one idea at a time: sort, match, count, sequence or build, depending on the pieces supplied.
- Demonstrate one example, then invite the child to try independently and explain what they notice.
Play together
- The Bryto review lists this mainly for individual play.
- An adult or peer can still join briefly to model a step, encourage the child or take turns when suitable.
- At home, connect the activity to everyday objects and simple counting.
- In classrooms and centres, use it for small-group stations, guided practice or extension tasks.
For parents, teachers and learning centres
- At home, use the activity in a relaxed, child-led way.
- In schools, nurseries and learning centres in Qatar and the Gulf, it can be considered for a supervised learning corner, small-group rotation or guided activity when it matches the class objective and learner needs.
Age and supervision
- Suggested age in the Bryto catalogue: 3 years.
- Choose the activity according to the child’s abilities and supervise use as appropriate.
- Keep the play area organised and store pieces safely after use.
